Dominic Anthony “Dom” Sherwood (born 6 February 1990) is an English actor, model, and musician. He is known for his appearance as Christian Ozera in the adaptation of Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy. Sherwood will be playing Jace Wayland on the upcoming TV show Shadowhunters on Freeform, from the hit book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.
Sherwood was born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. He went to school at Oakwood Park Grammar in Maidstone. After studying Drama and Theatre Studies at schools in Maidstone and Sevenoaks, he left to work abroad, starting in Kenya and moving for six months before moving to London. Sherwood’s first recurring role was in 2010 in the third season of the series The Cut as Jack Simmons. He also appeared in the Sadie J episode “Cherylistic”. In 2012, he had a short role in the film Not Fade Away as a young Mick Jagger. He got his first notable role as Christian Ozera in the film Vampire Academy, based on the novel by Richelle Mead. He then starred in a thriller entitled Take Down. He has also had uncredited roles in the films Stoned, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Stormbreaker. He has just finished filming a film entitled The Other. On April 20, 2015, it was announced he was chosen to play Jace Wayland in the upcoming Freeform drama, Shadowhunters, an adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series.
